Signage Design
The Slovene Ethnographic Museum is a museum "about people, for people", a place of heritage and identities, a link between history and modern culture, between the natural environment and civilisation of both everyday and festive life. It is a museum of dialogue, active and hospitable, dedicated to serving the public. Studio 360 was challenged to redesign and reposition its visual identity, way-finding and outdoor signage. Creative idea is based on the “Morina taca” symbol, a traditional motif that protects people, property or livestock from negative forces. We used it as a building block of several ethno patterns, which can be combined in many ways, if necessary. This approach emphasizes the value of each ethnographic story individually and allows for both the uniqueness and visual coherence of the system.
